There are more than 12,000 species of wildflowers in WA, making it the world's largest collection. It's a staggering sight to behold, especially when you consider 60% of Western Australian wildflowers are found nowhere else on Earth.
What's more, you can enjoy their glorious carpets of colour and curious blooms for six months of the year, as the season begins in June in the north, and sweeps down the State to finish with a flurry on the south coast in November.

The Act-Belong-Commit Avon Descent is Western Australia's own unique sporting event that attracts competitors and spectators from throughout Australia and overseas. Competitors challenge the Avon and Swan rivers in a variety of paddle and power craft in an exciting two-day time trial over 124 gruelling kilometres.
The Act-Belong-Commit Avon Descent was first held in 1973 with just 49 competitors, no rules, no officials, no checkpoints and very few spectators. In the years since, over 25,000 people have competed in the Act-Belong-Commit Avon Descent, from novices and families, to World and Olympic Champions.

An eight day international off-road endurance race starting in Australia's North West (Kununurra) and travelling south to finish in Perth.
The Australasian Safari is an off-road endurance rally that tests skill and courage throughout rugged outback Western Australia.The event includes over 4,000 competitive kilometres and attracts over 100 national and international competitors in four wheel drives, motorbikes and quads.
Considered the Paris to Dakar of the Asia Pacific region, the event is renowned as one of the toughest and most challenging motoring events in the world.
Off-road motoring enthusiasts (motorbikes only) can participate in the non-competitive category, Adventure Tour, to experience the event and explore Western Australia.

Five regional finalists and five metropolitan finalists take to the stage across two days in a sizzling live cook-off to win the title of 'WA's Best Steak Sandwich Metropolitan' & ' WA's Best Steak Sandwich Regional'
The ten finalists will be determined by consumers through an online voting system. The competition will be promoted through a variety of media including print, online, radio and on-premise throughout March and April.
The metropolitan and regional winners receive automatic entry as a finalist in the AHA-Aon Hotel & Hospitality Awards for Excellence 'WA's Best Steak Sandwich' category.
The overall winner of 2016 WA's Best Steak Sandwich will be announced on Monday 14 November at the AHA Awards night and gala ball.
